From September 25-29, Mipac’s Operations Manager Brian Forrester and Lead Senior EI&C Systems Engineer Len Walker joined delegates from around the world at the PERUMIN 36 Mining Summit in Arequipa, Peru.
This event, which brought together mining experts, vendors, authorities and researchers, centred around the theme of ‘Investment that generates welfare and sustainable development,’ underlining the crucial role of mining investments in Peru’s economic landscape.
PERUMIN is the largest mining convention in Peru, and, as Brian noted, Mipac aims to further strengthen ties with companies in the South American mining sector.
Already, Mipac has been involved in some significant projects in the country, including SPCC Copper Smelter and Quellaveco.
Globally, Peru’s position as a mining country is pivotal. Its abundant mineral resources, coupled with a dedication to responsible mining, make it an attractive hub for global mining investments. Peru not only provides valuable minerals but also fosters opportunities for international collaboration and growth.
PERUMIN 36 was a testament to Peru’s commitment to mining excellence and sustainable development, bringing together diverse voices from the mining industry, fostering partnerships, innovation and knowledge exchange.
