From keynote presentations to hands-on training and customer presentations, participants had the opportunity to engage with experts, deepen their technical expertise and network with peers.
Mipac’s takeaways from AVEVA World 2023
For Mipac’s resident AVEVA expert, Senior Systems Specialist Daniel Qiao, the event was an opportunity to benchmark the work Mipac does against other companies, as well as seeing different ways of accomplishing the same task.
“It was also interesting hearing about the roadmaps for development that AVEVA has for the future,” Daniel said. “As a business, AVEVA is trying to consolidate their platform offering (AVEVA Connect, AVEVA Data Hub, etc.) and close any gaps where there is no official AVEVA product yet that solves a problem.
“There is a lot more focus on the cloud and the data analytics, such as digital twins and machine learning, plus the overall connectivity of different systems and the sharing of data between different systems.”
Daniel also mentioned that there were interesting discussions about Industry 4.0, ESG and how, by reducing costs and improving efficiencies, progress is made on ESG goals naturally as less resources are being used.

Mipac Business Development Manager, Dennis Grundel, enjoyed the facets of the event which explored advanced technologies like industrial cloud platforms, digital twins and purpose-built AI.
“AVEVA revealed an Industry Intelligence-as-a-Service (IIaaS) platform, which is meant to empower business users with a comprehensive view of information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) insights, leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to accelerate value for joint customers to make faster data-driven decisions.”
Dennis also said he benefitted from learning that the AVEVA Connect and Microsoft Fabric data analytics solution will now be interoperable, streamlining the process of collecting, transforming and organising data from various sources.
“This collaboration will provide insights into information that span the manufacturing value chain,” he noted.
